What does "fractional HR" actually mean day-to-day?
We work as your embedded people lead on a fixed weekly cadence — typically 1–2 days per week. You get a senior operator in your Slack, your hiring loops, and your leadership meetings, without adding a full-time headcount.
How is this different from a recruiter or an HR consultant?
Recruiters charge per hire and disappear after offer. Consultants drop a deck and leave. We embed for the long-term across hiring, onboarding, people ops, and compliance — under a flat monthly retainer, no per-hire markup.
What size company is this for?
Best fit for Australian teams of roughly 5–80 — past your first few hires, before you can justify a full-time Head of People. We've also worked with earlier-stage founders on a single hiring search.
Do you handle Fair Work, awards, and modern award interpretation?
Yes. Award interpretation, NES compliance, Fair Work obligations, contractor vs employee classification, and the policy work that keeps you defensible. For complex industrial cases we partner with employment lawyers.
Which payroll and HRIS tools do you work with?
Yours. We're tool-agnostic and have set up or run engagements on Employment Hero, Xero Payroll, KeyPay, MYOB, Rippling, and BambooHR. If you don't have an HRIS yet, we'll recommend one for your stage and migrate you in.
What's the engagement structure and pricing?
Monthly retainers based on the time and scope you need — typically a fixed fee for an agreed cadence (e.g. 1 day per week). No per-hire fees, no annual lock-ins. Pause or end with two weeks' notice.
How fast can you start?
We onboard in about a week — kickoff, access to your tools, a 30-day plan. For active hiring, we can be running interviews within the second week.
